Have you ever loaded a new steel coil only to find deep indentations on its inner wall? That not only wastes material at the edges but also makes uncoiling uneven and unstable.
The problem often comes down to the expansion method. Our hydraulic decoiler with press arm uses a slider type radial expansion system with four support axles to prevent inner wall damage entirely. On top of that, it includes adjustable spacers and flexible motor power configurations, so you can handle different inner diameters and coil weights without trouble. Let me walk you through how this machine protects your coil inner walls, adapts to various inner diameters, and matches your load requirements.

Most conventional decoilers use a four jaw clamping structure. Four jaws push outward from inside the coil, leaving four visible indentations on the inner wall after expansion. These marks damage the material surface and cause local deformation in the inner ring, leading to inconsistent tension during uncoiling that directly affects downstream forming quality.
We completely abandoned the four jaw design on this machine. The slider type expansion system moves multiple sliders radially at the same time, applying force evenly like opening an umbrella. After expansion, the inner core forms an almost perfect circle; the inner wall shows no indentations, no metal deformation, and no loose metal flakes.
Four high strength support axles inside the main shaft ensure concentricity during expansion. With uniform expansion force, the steel coil won't slip on the mandrel, so uncoiling stays exceptionally stable. Downstream punch presses and roll formers receive a consistent strip with steady tension, which naturally improves product dimensional accuracy.

Coils from different steel mills often come with different inner diameters. Some have 470 mm, some have 530 mm, and others have 570 mm or 630 mm. If your decoiler only fits one inner diameter, you will need a different machine for each batch of material. That is not practical or economical.
We equipped the main shaft with removable adjustment spacers. You simply add or remove spacers based on your coil's inner diameter, and you can switch freely within the 470 to 610 mm range. The whole process takes only a few minutes. You don't need to replace the shaft or call in a technician; your own workers can handle it.
This spacer system lets one machine cover multiple inner diameter specifications. Whether you need the standard 470 to 530 mm range, the 570 to 630 mm range, or any size in between, you can adjust it quickly by adding or removing spacers.

The standard load capacity on this hydraulic decoiler with press arm covers 5 tons, 6 tons, and 7 tons universally. This weight range meets the daily needs of most roll forming, stamping, and slitting lines. Whether you produce steel purlins, solar panel supports, cable trays, or sound barrier panels, coils from 5 to 7 tons will sit firmly on this machine.
If your production line handles heavier coils, we also offer custom options. Just tell us your maximum coil weight when you place your order, and we can adjust the shaft wall thickness, cylinder specifications, and base structure to increase the load capacity to your required level.
For motor power, the standard configuration includes a 4 kW main motor and a 3 kW hydraulic pump station. These provide enough power for smooth uncoiling of 5 to 7 ton coils. If you need higher speed or special voltage and frequency requirements, you can also mention that in your custom order.

Different workshops have different production conditions. We offer flexible customization on this hydraulic decoiler with press arm to adapt it to your specific requirements:

If you are choosing a decoiler for your workshop, here are the steps I recommend for sorting out your needs.
First, confirm the dimensions and weight of your coils. Write down the inner diameter, outer diameter, width, and maximum tonnage. Most factories fall within the 5 to 7 ton range. If your coils exceed 7 tons, be sure to mention that when you request a quote.
Second, check the production speed of your downstream equipment. Stamping lines and roll forming lines have different speed requirements, so you can decide if you need a higher power motor configuration based on your actual speed.
Third, look at your workshop space and loading method. If your forklift can access the area easily, you may not need the coil car. If you want to save labor on coil changes, I recommend adding the optional unloading coil car.
