Have you ever watched workers at the end of your production line catching channels one by one as they come out at high speed, bending down, stacking, bending down again, and stacking again? The roll forming machine runs faster and faster, but the workers cannot keep up. This is not a problem unique to one factory. Every drywall channel production line faces this bottleneck when it speeds up.
The drywall channel stacker machine solves exactly this problem. It stands at the last section of the production line, takes each formed and cut channel, and stacks them automatically. The goal is to let the production line truly run at full speed without being held back by manual handling at the end.

One automatic stacker can fit the end of various cold formed section production lines. It solves the same problem across all of them: after high speed forming, manual stacking cannot keep up with the machine speed.
Common production lines that use this equipment include:
U channel roll forming line
steel stud and track roll forming line
On any of these lines, when the forming speed exceeds manual handling capacity, the channel automatic stacker machine becomes the key to continuous production. The automatic stacker takes finished products from the output table, stacks them according to preset arrangements on the stacking table, and waits for bundling and removal.

The drywall channel is a type of light gauge steel channel primarily used as framing material for non load bearing interior walls and suspended ceilings in buildings. It typically has a C shape or U shape cross section and supports plasterboards or other wall and ceiling panels.
These products have a wide range of applications:
interior partition systems for office buildings, hotels, hospitals, and schools
ceiling systems for shopping malls, airports, and subway stations
furring walls and basement walls in renovation projects
non load bearing interior partitions and suspended ceilings in various industrial and civil buildings
The market demand for drywall channels keeps growing. Commercial buildings, residential projects, and public facilities all need large quantities of these channels. When order volumes go up, production lines have to speed up. The roll forming machine goes from 30 meters per minute to 50 meters, then to 70 meters. The front end runs faster and faster.
The problem shows up at the end. The forming machine runs at high speed, and cut channels come out one after another. Manual handling speed has limits. Workers get tired, slow down, and make mistakes. If stacking speed at the end cannot keep up with forming speed at the front, the entire production line's actual output suffers. This is the fundamental reason drywall channel production lines need automatic stacking equipment.
The automatic stacker brings real changes to the production line in several ways:
Reducing manual handling. Workers no longer need to stand at the output chute catching channels one by one and bending down to stack them. The metal channel automatic stacker machine takes finished products directly from the output table and stacks them according to preset arrangements. Manual intervention drops to the minimum.
Improving production efficiency. The stacker runs continuously without stopping, staying synchronized with the roll forming machine's output speed. Every channel coming out of the forming machine gets picked up promptly and stacked neatly. The entire line does not have to slow down because the end cannot keep up.
Supporting automated production. The automatic stacker is an essential part of a fully automated production line. From uncoiling, forming, cutting, to stacking, the whole process requires no manual intervention. A stud channel automatic stacker machine turns a semi-automatic line into a fully automatic one.
Consistent stacking quality. The pulling section uses servo gear rack transmission for precise position control. It avoids the misalignment, tilting, and uneven stacking common with manual work. Every bundle comes out neat and uniform.

Protecting product surfaces. The clamping parts use soft rubber covering with adjustable cylinder pressure. Even 0.3mm thin channels will not get squeezed or deformed. The galvanized layer stays scratch-free, and products reach customers in good condition.
Easy operation. One-touch operation allows new workers to get started quickly. The built-in recipe storage system saves up to 50 channel types. When switching specifications, just call up the recipe with one touch. No need to recalibrate the machine each time.
Forming machine output → cutting → sensor detects arrival → clamping device lowers and grips → movement system carries to stacking table → clamping device releases → cycle repeats until preset layer count

The pulling section uses servo gear rack transmission. Five servo motor systems work together to control each action and ensure every channel lands in the right position. The clamping parts use soft rubber covering. The stacking support plate uses folded forming with no welded seams. The base uses 120 by 80mm square tubes for easy forklift access. The heavy duty cable carrier ensures long term stable operation.
The following parameters come from the equipment quotation:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Applicable channel length | 2.6 to 4.0 meters (maximum) |
| Working speed | 70 meters for 3-meter channels |
| Machine footprint | 9.0 meters long by 2.5 meters wide |
| Packaging width range | 900 to 1200 millimeters |
| Maximum packaging height | 850 millimeters |
| Bundle quantity | 24 pieces per bundle, 4 layers by 3 columns by 2 rows |
| Power supply | 380V 50Hz three phase |
| Operating language | English and Chinese |
These parameters determine what kind of production line this equipment can match. The applicable channel length of 2.6 to 4.0 meters covers the vast majority of drywall channel specifications on the market. The working speed of 70 meters for 3-meter channels means it can handle over 20 pieces per minute. The machine footprint of 9.0 meters long by 2.5 meters wide means you need to reserve space before installation.
Manual stacking has three limitations. Physically, workers bend over for long periods and get tired easily. In terms of quality, manual stacking does not produce neat bundles, and crooked bundles tend to fall apart when they reach the customer. For efficiency, manual speed has a ceiling and gets slower over time.
These limitations get magnified when the line speeds up. The roll forming machine outputs dozens of channels per minute, and workers simply cannot keep up. When stacking at the end falls behind, the forming machine has to slow down or stop and wait.
The drywall channel packing machine solves this speed matching problem. It lets the end processing speed keep up with the front output speed, so the whole line can truly run at full capacity. A stacker machine is not just a nice addition. When you are ready to increase your line speed, it becomes a necessity.
